Mermaid and Monofin Swimming Lessons
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to swim with a tail like a mermaid? Swimming with a tail or “Monofin” is fun and safe, and is even a competitive sport where world class Olympic swimmers compete for medals. Join the “Mermaids & Bubbles” Mermaid and Monofin school this summer and learn to swim like a mermaid! You’ll develop confidence in the water, build strength, flexibility, and endurance, and learn the techniques for swimming with graceful whole body movements, just like a real mermaid!
Classes start soon, kids 8+ sessions run on Fridays from 4:30-6pm and adult sessions Monday/Friday 6:30pm. Our instructor is fully qualified, insured and experienced in teaching all ages.

Aqua Chi: Fridays at 6-15
Aqua Chi combines the practice of Tai Chi (movement, flow, breathing and postures) with the benefits of hydrotherapy. The decreased load on joints while moving in our heated pool develops increased joint mobility, decreases swelling and improves relaxation through the release of tension. The gentle resistance of the water helps to increase your strength and develop greater flexibility and coordination. Aqua Chi is especially useful for people with temporary or long-term decreased mobility, pain or stiffness who would benefit from practicing the flowing body mechanics of Tai Chi while being supported in water. Reduce stress, manage pain, and learn practical techniques for relaxation all through Tai Chi in the water!

Aqua Circuits: Thursdays at 7-15
Aqua circuits is a low impact workout perfect for all abilities and levels. You'll use different pieces of equipment and target multiple different muscle groups to provide a resistance training total body workout in the water. There are 10 stations set up around the pool with each exercise being performed in the water. These stations will have signs to remind you of the exercise and the options for different abilities, these will also be explained at the start of class as well. Aqua Circuits is perfect for those who prefer a more targeted workout without a choreography element.

Rookie Lifeguards:
Thursdays 5-6pm
5th June to 10th July (6 weeks)
The Rookie Lifeguard Pool programme teaches children interchangeable skills that help build their confidence, promote teamwork, and foster leadership skills. Rookie Pool Lifeguards develop the basic survival, rescue and lifesaving skills that will empower them to respond effectively in emergency situations. The programme can run parallel to your child’s current swimming lessons and enhance the skills they learn in the pool.
The programme is aimed at children aged 8-12 years but we are happy to have older children on the course too.
They need to be able to swim 25 metres front and back stroke.
If we fill this session we may split the group into two, with the older/stronger swimmers later (in consultation with their parents/carers).
Course Fee: £50
Advance Booking Only. Please Book Here
Adult Lessons: Mondays
2nd June to 14th July (7 weeks)

About Chudleigh Community Swimming Pool

The pool is 20 metres long and 8 metres wide. It's depth is 1 metre at the shallow end and 1.4 metres at the deep end. So adults can stand on the bottom over its whole area.
Water temperature is normally around 28 degrees C and is partially heated by solar panels.

Pool Shelter: Unbelievably, our large wood framed shelter was raised and commissioned in one day in 2008. It provides shade when sunny and shelter when wet so no need to worry about the weather!
